1977 graduated from SMP Negeri I, Pacitan (Junior High School)

1980 started performing professionally as a dhalang at age 19

1982 graduated from SMKI ( High School of Performing Arts in Solo)

1986 graduated from STSI  (Conservatory of Performing Arts in Solo), now called ISI

1987 became a member of the pedhalangan faculty of STSI, now called ISI

1988 made his entry into the Solonese professional dhalang community as a result of his highly acclaimed performance at the home of Ki Anom Soeroto for “Rebo Legen” (lakon: Kunthi Pilih)

 1990 won 1st place in the Central Javanese Dhalang Competition in Semarang (lakon: Kunthi Pilih)

 1990 first overseas trip, performed with the Southbank Centre in London, England (lakon: Wiratha Parwa, all night)

 1992 founded his current performing troupe “Mayangkara” (“Mangesthi Wayang Kagungan Rahayu”)

 1994 performed in Vienna, Austria (lakon: Ciptoning, padhat)

1995 debuted his own version of Sumantri Ngenger, to great acclaim, for the  50-years of Indonesian Independence celebration at Pagelaran, Kraton Solo, which featured 50 nights of wayang by 50 of Solo's top dhalang

2000 performed for the opening of “Timasan”—the residence of Ki Anom Soeroto (lakon: Sumilaking Pedhut Astina)

 2001 performed in Greece as part of a Senawangi mission (lakon: Dewa Ruci and Duryudana Gugur)

 2004 graduated from UGM with his Master’s in Performing Arts. His thesis analyzed the influence of Tristuti Suryaputra's written texts and style on the Solonese pedhalangan scene and is entitled:

 2005 performed in Bangkok, Thailand with a troupe from STSI (lakon: Ramayana, padhat 30 minutes)

2006 performed in Singapore with Singalaras (lakon: Ciptoning and Ramayana, padhat 2 hours)

 2006 one-month tour of the USA, performed padhat wayang with Gamelan Pacifica of Seattle, Friends of the Gamelan of Chicago, and Manunggal Rasa from the East Coast (all performances were padhat, 2-3 hours)

2007 after 17 years, returned to the Southbank Centre to perform Ciptoning (padhat, 2 hours) and Babad Wanamarta (all-night, 7 hours) with the Southbank Gamelan Players for the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall on the banks of  the Thames River, London, England

April 2008 performed in La Paz, Bolivia for the opening night of the biannual International Theater Festival (FITAZ), and conducted workshops throughout the festival, lakon Ciptoning, padhat (45 minutes)

July 2008 performed in Tokyo and Kobe, Japan with Gamelan Lambangsari, lakon Arjuna Wiwaha (Ciptoning), padhat (2 hours)
