(The first half of the dissertation is a very useful examination of the UNESCO honor bestowed on wayang as a "Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage." In the second half of the dissertation, Boonstra briefly examines aspects of the careers of Manteb Soedharsono, Purbo Asmoro, and Enthus Susmono. The sections on both Manteb Soedharsono and Purbo Asmoro are filled with factual errors and misconceptions due to a number of factors such as limited exposure and limited background knowledge.)
